Amara is originally from Fairfax, Virginia. She received her formal dance training from BalletNova Center for Dance, the Joffrey Ballet Chicago Trainee Program, and the Ballet Arizona Studio Company. She has attended summer intensive programs at Ballet Arizona, San Francisco Ballet, Rochester City Ballet, Next Generation Ballet, Houston Ballet, and The Royal Ballet School of Antwerp, Belgium as well as being a three-time semi-finalist at the Youth America Grand Prix competition. As a member of State Street Ballet she has performed in featured solos choreographed by Autumn Eckman and lead and soloist roles as Clara in The Nutcracker, Spring Fairy in Cinderella, and a Harlot in Romeo and Juliet. Amara has had the opportunity to perform in works by Sir Frederick Ashton, George Balanchine, Jeffrey Cirio, Kassandra Taylor Newberry, and William Soleau. She is excited to continue sharing her love of dance with the students of Gustafson Dance!
