Show Your Love and Support for Allison…
Most of you know that our Director, Allison Gustafson suffered a mild stroke unexpectedly which has left her unable to do what she loves to do most — teach dance. We are hopeful she makes a full recovery and we also know that someone as determined and strong as Allison will be able to accomplish anything. Meanwhile — medical bills, rehabilitation therapy and her absence from the studio mean that our financial support is an important contribution we can make to her full recovery. If you’d like to make a donation to help Allison in this time of need, visit the page we set up on YouCaring’s website.
Next week is Observation Week where parents are welcome to watch their young dancers in class. To minimize the impact of having extra people in the studio and as part of the class, we ask that you follow the following guidelines:
- Please try to leave little siblings at home, or be willing to step out of the class if your child becomes disruptive.
- With our young dancers, please remember every week to use the restroom before class and to bring a water bottle — especially for one-hour classes.
- We ask parents to respect our rule that there be no food inside the studios, and to take any cell phone calls outside.
- You are welcome to take pictures or videos during observation as long as you are discreet.
If you post anything adorable or wonderful that you see in class on FB or Instagram, don’t forget to tag @gustafsondance or #gustafsondance.

Parent Volunteer Sign Up
There are many positions for both moms and dads; some require a commitment at a specific dress-rehearsal and/or performance. We have worked to provide many different options in order to accommodate your schedule. We also have an option where you can opt out of volunteering for a $35 fee. Parent Involvement is required for each student in the school. You must be signed up by November 13th. Thanks for your assistance in this effort! Simply visit the following link and scroll to the bottom of the page to use the form. Rudolph Sign Up | Nutcracker Sign Up
PERFORMANCE FLOWER ORDERS:
Say Congrats to your dancer or his/her dancing friend with flowers! Flowers have been a traditional post-performance gift for dancers going back as far as the early 1900’s! Click on this link to place an order! Flowers will be ready for pickup at the theatre on the day/time of the performance you select.
RUDOLPH PROGRAM ADS:
Click on this link to place an ad in the Rudolph Program for your business or as congratulations for your dancer. It will be seen by approximately 1,000 people that attend our shows! Details on the order page.
We are not able to sell program ads for the Nutcracker program as it is a part of State Street Ballet’s season program booklet, however, there will be an opportunity to donate to the Orchestra Music Fund for Nutcracker and then you will be able to write a congratulatory note to your dancer that will be added to the program! Details to follow soon!
For show tickets, remember that if you are working backstage as a Group Monitor for Rudolph or Nutcracker or doing a Volunteer position that will keep you backstage during the show, you will not need a ticket to the show because you will be backstage. If your volunteer position takes place outside of the theatre or before or after the show time, and you want to sit in the audience, you must have a ticket to that show. (Parent Volunteer Sign Ups will be updated very soon!)
Tickets For Nutcracker at the Granada:
If your child is in Act 1, and you would like to sign out at Intermission and have your dancer watch Act 2 in the audience with you, he/she will need a ticket for that seat. Act 2 dancers will not be able to sit in the audience during the shows at all, but we will give them an opportunity to sit in the audience during dress rehearsal as much as possible.
