A Holiday Season and Show to Remember
We want to take a moment to reflect and appreciate each of you for your dedication and commitment during the Thomas Fire last month. As you know, we were only able to have a single show of The Nutcracker on Sunday and were sad that many of our dancers didn’t get a chance to perform either because they had evacuated or were only cast in the Saturday shows. Still, we are so glad for the one show of Nutcracker and are so proud of the group efforts of teachers, parents, costumer staff and dancers to get as many dancers on stage as we could for that one show. We do have each Nutcracker dancer’s post-show gift at the studio and will be passing them out in classes the first week of January.
Speaking of the show, we got an excellent write up in Noozhawk where the show was called a “triumphant performance”. In reading it, you might see how State Street Ballet lost significant revenue in having to cancel two shows that weekend. If you are so inclined, contributions can be made online at their website and would be much appreciated.
There have also been some questions about Flower Orders and the Bun Bar for the Saturday shows. If you were set to get flowers or had paid for a Bun Bar for Saturday shows, feel free to email Nicole and she will put a credit for the Madeline show in the Spring or you could consider it a holiday donation you would want to make anyway to State Street Ballet Young Dancers — either way works for us but to obtain credit, please remember to let Nicole know.
